What is Staves Rest (the group)?
Staves Rest is an evolving species ARPG that centers around creatures called staxies. We want to encourage creativity and reward drawing/writing with upgrades that you can apply to your staxie. The more you draw them, the more upgrades you have access to! With magic to learn, an archipelago full of friends, and a deep sea to explore, we hope you enjoy your stay and most importantly, have fun!
What is Staves Rest (the place)?
Staves Rest is the second largest island in an isolated archipelago, populated. About 25 miles or 40km in diameter, it's home to most of the staxies you'll come to know and love, though some may live on the outlying islands. The island has a large, beautiful shoreline, with sturdy buildings both under and above the water, and some even between the tidal lines! Lush forest occupies much of the interior of the island and is home to many strange and wonderful creatures.
The folk there are generally a happy-go-lucky sort, grateful for the bountiful ocean and island they call home. The settlement is nearly 500 years old now, founded by refugees of the Great Dying, a mysterious catastrophe that none who now live remember. Staxies travel from island to island by small boats, or by swimming if you're quite strong (and aren't carrying groceries home!)
What are staxies?
Staxies are anthropomorphic, ever evolving, highly magical amphibians. They change appearances quite easily, and new colors, patterns, even appendages can come and go with the seasons. Make your staxie the way you want, with dozens of upgrades and endless combinations to make a character that you can really connect to!
They start off as little quadrupeds, and grow to large bipeds or quads, but the changes don't stop there! Well-trained adult staxies have the opportunity to go through metamorphosis, and discover entirely new possibilities for themselves.
Staxies are very in tune with magical tides and can learn magic with ease. Stumps and adults alike posses magic glands, unique organs that act as a conduit for magic. Stumps have temporary magic glands on their tongues, which fade as they grow into adults and grow permanent magic glands elsewhere on the body. Adults can learn to funnel magic into spells to help with everyday life, or just to show off! There are 12 different types of magics, feel like mastering them all?
Stax: alternate word for staxie, can be singular or plural. (similar to "fish")
Stump: a baby staxie
Star: a metamorphosized staxie
When joining Staves Rest, you are given the following freebies:

The following items will reset every anniversary:

You heard that right, everything except your MYO slots will reset every anniversary, meaning if you used them, you get them back and you can use them again the next year!
If you do not use these items, they DO NOT stack, so you might as well use them if the year is coming to a close. If you don't use it, you lose it!
