How to Make a Staxie!
When making your stump, the first thing you'll want to do is pick out the color you'd like to use!
All 10 MYO palettes can be found on the Staxie resource account, linked below!

Stump Anatomy
Got your template picked out? Right-click and save that bad boy. Now it's time to learn some stump, or baby staxie, anatomy!

• Stumps walk on four legs and are stocky and chunky.
• Long, slender stalks for ears, one on each side, with a simple tuft at the end of each one.
• Eyebrows can be any simple shape!
• Short tails, less than half the length from their chest to their bums.
• Pupilless eyes.
• Three toes on all feet. Feet can be pawed or clawed.
• No paw pads or thumbs.
• Ear tufts can be stylized.Must remain similar in size and location.
• Ears can be drawn with little ear holes.
• Tongues are inky black.
This is a stump's temporary magic gland. They fade to pink as they grow into adults and permanent magic glands appear elsewhere. This black tongue is referred to as a stump's "magic mouth".
• No teeth.
• Lil nostril holes on either side of the nose.
Nose Type
Your staxie can have either a snout or a round nose.
This can be changed later if you change your mind, and there is some wiggle room for stylization of the nose.
However, it should always be obvious if your staxie has a snout or a round nose.

Mouth Type
You can pick one of three mouth types for your staxie. This can be changed later if you wish.
• Jagged mouths can be drawn with more... jagged edges if you please.
• Jagged mouths should always come to a downwards point in the center of the face, like drawn below.
• Likewise, the kibby mouth should always come to an upwards point in the center of the face, also seen below.

Drawing Your Stump

• Your stump should be drawn from a profile view with all four feet on the ground.
• Boring poses are best.
• Black linework. [No lineless/colored lines here, please!]
• No shading.
• No teeth.
• No pupils.
• No paw pads.
• No thumbs.
• Two ears -- stems with tufts on the end. [Tufts can be stylized how you wish, within reason!]
• Don't forget the nostrils!
• The more of your stump that is visible, the better! [if not all toes are showing, no big deal.]
Coloring Your Stump

Your staxie must have enough base color showing to be recognizable.
And unfortunately, there's no real way to assign value to what is "too little" base showing. At the end of the day, it is down to mod-decision, and we are only human. HOWEVER, Geotest is great for feeling your designs out.
Click me for Geotest!
Plug in your approval image (make sure it's cropped to only show your staxie) and it will show you the proportions of each color on your staxie. A good rule of thumb is your staxie's base color should be at least the second most common color on your stump. This is not a guaranteed pass on your staxie as ultimately it is down to mod decision!
• Eye dropper all your colors from the palette provided.
• You can use ALL THREE of the available secondary colors!
Click me for legal placements!
• You may also choose an accent to color your placements in.
• You can pick any eye color you want!
-
Eye color CANNOT be used for placements on your stump, however it CAN be used when applying upgrades later on!
(Read further in the Upgrade Applying Guide!)
• If tongue is shown, it should be black/nearly black. Rest of the mouth should be pinkish/reddish.
• White sclera.
Your eye and accent color can be any color you want so long as it is distinguishable from black linework. A luminosity of 6 is the MINIMUM, we recommend a luminosity of at least 10-12.
Finally, give your stump a name!
Your stump can have any name, we will use the name on the template in our official masterlist!
Don't forget to fill in your Eye / Accent boxes in the upper right corner!
SAVE YOUR LAYERS.
In case you need to make an edit, you won't have to redraw!

There are seven options to choose from for your stump's sex. This comes into play when breeding in the future, if you wish, and can be changed later on via quest!
Your stump's gender may be whatever you wish regardless of sex.
With this in mind, these are the options for sex when creating your stump:
Male: biological male.
Female: biological female.
Male, sterile: a biologically male character that cannot breed.
Female, sterile: an biologically female character that cannot breed.
Intersex, male: an intersex character who will function as male for breeding purposes.

Remember that staxies can change their sex via a quest in the future!
We encourage people to write diverse characters, but please remember to do research and ask questions when writing a character with an identity that is not your own!
