It's a warm, clear day in Staves Rest, perfect for going to the market and doing some window shopping. You have a few items on your shopping list, but you're mostly here to see what interesting baubles are on display. It's nice to dream about what you could purchase...
You just finished looking at a stall with some square fruits for sale and were heading to the next when suddenly something cold grabs your arm and pulls you aside in between two stalls.
You almost scream but stop when you see the culprit.
Cobalt: SHH! Don't scream. Sorry for scaring you.
Cobalt: I need your help with something TOP secret.
You've barely ever talked to Cobalt, why has he chosen you for this job that you didn't ask for? You voice your concerns to him.
Cobalt: No normal staxie looks at square watermelons for 30 minutes with no intentions to buy them. You're perfect.
You are still unsure. How risky is this? What do you get in return?
Cobalt: Listen, I got some good coin in it for you. OH, and I've been working on some new brews lately if you're interested? I got a new one with some weem meat in it. I think this one's a winner.
You aren't sure how you feel about weem meat, but money is always nice.
You agree.
Cobalt: AH, perfect! Let me fill you in on the details.
He ushers you into a nearby alley, just to put some space between you two and other staxies. He pulls out a piece of chalk from his bandana and starts drawing on one of the brick walls.
Cobalt: Gayley stole some important things from Slurm. Things that were meant for me.
Cobalt: I need you to go into the sheriff's office and steal these things back.
Cobalt: Knowing Gayley, he probably put them in the evidence locker, it's a chest near his desk.
The more Cobalt talks, the more he draws, and the more incomprehensible his drawing becomes. Your memory finally ignites and you remember-- he's blind.
Cobalt: You can do this one of two ways. You can go head-first and just walk in through the front door, grab my stuff, and run.
Cobalt: It's up to you. So long as you get my stuff, I don't care.
You look at his incomprehensible diagram and then back to the staxie himself. Your want to say "No" is in a battle with your need to be polite and say "Yes".
You inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
You: Sure.
Cobalt: AHA! Thank you! I know you wouldn't say no.
Cobalt: One more thing, if you get caught, don't mention my name. I can't go back to prison. Thanks!
