You've never considered yourself a crafty staxie-- literally.
Whatever your reason, you need to make something and you're strong enough to admit you need help. You assume that the best place to start is the local smiths since... they make stuff. It's not much, but it's the best you got.
Rolfe: Hey! Welcome to Trotterskull Alley! We have some pieces hanging on the wall near the door, but if you need something custom, let me know!
You waste no time in explaining that you'd actually like to make something yourself, but have no materials and don't know where to start.
Rolfe: Ooh, looking to dip your toes into the world of smithing, huh? I started when I was just a stump, I'm sure you'll do great!
Rolfe: Not smithing? Woodworking is great too! I wish I had time to practice more!
Rolfe: ...oh! You want... to work with paper! That's-- great! We all need to start somewhere!
Rolfe: I have just the staxie to help you out, follow me.
Rolfe: Pidge! Would you be willing to help this staxie with some arts and crafts?
Pigeon: I'm not a kid, I don't do arts and crafts.
Rolfe: You don't have to, but I'm sure they'd love if you showed them the ropes!
Rolfe: No one makes a better paper glider than you do!
Pigeon: ...
Pigeon: Fine.
